Finally an exhibition for all those who have been asking themselves lately: WTF?
What the hell does it all mean? And the honest answer is: Maybe nothing. Maybe everything. ‍¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Covfefe!

The exhibition shows works by Georg Eckmayr, eSeL (Lorenz Seidler), Ella Esque, Nina Fuchs, Flynn, Christoph Höschele, Margit Nobis, Julian Palacz, Linus Riepler & Kathrin Stumreich, who deal with these phenomena in different ways.

📅 Vernissage: Fr, 14.03., 7pm
📅 Finissage: Fr, 04.04., 7pm
📍 Ort: ada, Wattgasse 16, 1160 Wien
Words are powerful. But what happens when they lose their meaning?

A word without definition that takes on a life of its own. In an incomplete tweet by Donald Trump, it appeared without explanation - and became a global phenomenon. A mistake. An absurd nothing that takes on meaning through assertion alone. No rowing back, no correction. Instead:

“Who can figure out the true meaning of covfefe? Enjoy!”

Context shifts. Words change their meaning. What seemed impossible yesterday is normal today. Boundaries - in minds, in laws, in realities - are being redrawn. Strategic incompetence is becoming an art form, gaslighting a political stylistic device, post-factual sovereignty the new reality.

“ada is ... covfefe” explores these border areas of language, perception and zeitgeist - somewhere between absurdity, Dada and unintentional humor.

What happens when images, words and signs begin to contradict themselves ...?
This is what the selected artistic positions revolve around, setting standardized perception in motion: A thumb that never points upwards. A house of cards that only stands by faith. A face that becomes a landscape. A “political bullshitting machine”. Flynn, an AI that has just passed the entrance exam to the digital art class. Photographs that capture the absurd humor of zeitgeisty shifts. Marches whose sound and rhythm synchronize bodies. Images that break out of the archive and form new meanings - fragmented documents that re-contextualize themselves. Surveillance that becomes an image - a crossing of boundaries in the physical that has long since become systematic in the digital. An energy cycle that dissolves into ashes - documented in the vastness of the Mojave Desert.
